Wax Melts. What are they?

What is a wax melt?

A wax melt is exactly that.  A piece of wax called a tart, cube or other name that comes in clamshells, loafs or other varieties of shapes, that is fragranced and is probably colored.   Wax melts are used to create an ambience through scent.  Wax melts are wickless.  The main method of creating a fragrance ambience is by using a wax warmer and popping a piece of wax into the wamer's dish (or "lid") of the wamer.  The wax is slowly melted and throws scent to create an scent mood within your space.

The benefits of using wax melts over candles are many.
They are  generally less expensive making it easier to purchase a larger variety of fragrances.
You can use more than one melt at a time to create your own mix and match scents.
You can choose from a multitude of wamers on the market to fit your home's decor from room to room versus a standard glass jar style available with regular candles.
While it is still the best idea to keep out of the reach of children and pets, wax melts do not have a wick or a flame.
No flame?  No flame also means no soot andno sooty ceiling marks in case your wick was too long.
No flame also means no worries about whether you remembered to extinguish the candle before you left home.
Please note:  It is not advised to use a fragrance oil burner (requires a tea light candle) in place of a wax warmer.
